Purpose of IS

To provide students with an alternative to classroom instruction if the student must miss school for a certain amount of time for various reasons.

IS is used to complete days of attendance missed due to acceptable circumstances which prevents the student from regularly attending school.

This is not an alternative curriculum.

  3. Adminstrator will approve or deny
    • May take anywhere from 1-5 days

If approved,

  1. Front Office staff will notify IS Coordinator and provide IS Coordinator with request form and other documentations as needed
  2. IS Coordinator will generate IS Contract and IS Homework Logs and provide IS Homework Logs to teachers for assignments and signatures
    • May take about 1-2 days
  3. IS Coordinator will collect IS Homework Logs and assignments from teachers
    • May take anywhere from 3-5 or so days to receive assignments and complete logs from teachers
    • This will also vary depending on the length of the requested IS
  4. Once IS Coordinator has all the necessary documentations and signatures from staff, requesting parent/ guardian will be contacted
  5. Requesting parent/ guardian must come in with student and sign off on all necessary forms and pick up work for student

* ALL OF THIS MUST OCCUR PRIOR TO THE INDICATED REQUESTED IS DATES*

Please note, processing dates may vary depending on how many students are on IS.

If denied for IS, student is expected to attend school as normal.
